Tolerance Updates

We’ve made changes to how default, document defined, and manually set tolerances must be entered and how they are displayed in your InspectionXpert projects.

The tolerances in your existing projects will be updated automatically to reflect these changes, but any reports you’ve previously generated will not be impacted.

When setting your default linear or angular tolerances, if you are entering standard bilateral tolerances (+ / -), the “minus” tolerance must include a minus sign ("-") in front of the values.

Positive values do not require a plus sign ("+"). If you try to enter a “+” sign, you will be given an error message.

If your default tolerances are + / + then you will enter them as shown here, with no signs in front of the values:

If your default tolerances are - / - then you will enter them as shown here, with the “-” sign in front of both sets of values:

When capturing individual document defined tolerances on your drawing, the same rules apply. Plus (“+”) signs are not required. Minus (“-”) signs must be used where required.

If your dimension looks like this: The tolerances should be entered like this:

Here's what else is new:

  • We’ve added a document information tab. Here, you can select your document type, add drawing information, and add page names to each page in your PDF.

  • Some of our users have reported problems when entering notes. We’ve improved the note editing process and improved accuracy when notes contain numbers.
